Who we are
Three people in St. Petersburg, Florida, and a dog named Otis. Founders building the tool we wished existed when we ran an agency. The product is Nine·Tails — an editorial reporting platform for performance marketing agencies. The site you're reading is the marketing surface; the actual product lives behind a sign-in.
We're early. The full team will be ten or fewer for a long time. Compensation will be competitive but won't be the reason to come; the reason to come is the kind of work, the kind of taste, and the kind of decisions you get to be part of when the team is small.
What we look for
In rough order:
- Senior-strategist register, regardless of role. The way the homepage reads is the way we want every artifact we ship to read — internal docs, customer emails, error states, support replies. Dry, declarative, no hype. If you have to be talked out of using "supercharge," we're not a fit.
- One step deeper than the brief. When asked for a feature, you ship the feature plus the obvious follow-up nobody asked for. When asked for a fix, you fix it plus the adjacent thing you noticed. We hire people who keep finding the next thing.
- A trade you do better than most. Engineering, design, sales, ops, content — pick one and be unfairly good at it. We're not looking for generalists yet; we're looking for specialists who can hold a strong opinion and explain it.
- Honest about scope. When something's done, say it's done. When it isn't, say what's left. The brand voice on the marketing site is a reasonable proxy for what we want in slack.
What we're (not) hiring for now
- Engineering. We're solo on engineering for the next while. If we hire one person here, it's likely a senior full-stack person who can hold the report-engine layer (Drizzle + Anthropic + the editor UX) end-to-end.
- Design. Same answer. The brand system is mature; the next design hire would lead the in-product editor surfaces (report editor, voice settings, integrations) once Phase I ships.
- Sales / customer success. Probably a year out. Solo agency-by-agency onboarding is the moat for now; the first sales hire will inherit a process that already works, not invent one.
